MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

       Dear Darrian, 

      

           I have to tell you something no one else can know. It's a dirty secret that I have been 

       keeping balled up inside me for a while. It is about you, me, and a dirty lie. It was a dark 

       and gloomy friday night when me and you were hanging out at my house. We were justing 

       chilling and watching basketball while talking about who's gonna win out of the heat and 

       thunder. I kept saying that the thunder were gonna win it all this year, while you thought the

       heat were gonna win it again. Of course we all know they both are elite teams and win make

       it a good and interesting game. We went on about why we thought our team would win it all

       and both got thirsty. I decided to get us both something to drink...... And that's when it 

       happened😱. I yelled out to the living room what you wanted to drink and you replied coke.

       I checked around to see what we had and...... We only had pepsi😱😷. So I poured two 

       cups of Pepsi and gave you one... I didn't even tell you it wasn't coke it was Pepsi. I am so

       Sorry I hope you can forgive me I didn't mean for this to happen and could not hold this 

        secret inside me. I hope can can hurdle this obstacle and remain friends.

Gothic novels emphasize horror, mystery, and supernatural. Of the three elements of atmosphere, action, and supernatural I think the most effective element to create the gothic mood is the atmosphere of the story. I think that if you have a good atmosphere which really gives the reader a picture of what is going on and what everything looks like it helps create the mood the writer try's to convey. In Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein she does a really good job of showing horror, supernatural, and mystery through her atmosphere. She creates the mood of horror, mystery, and the supernatural when she describes the atmosphere around Victor while he is creating the creature. Also when she describes the creature. She creates a atmosphere of horror and mystery because with the details she uses to describe the creature you can try and imagine what it looks like, creating this horrorful, scary looking man like figure in your head. I think the a good atmosphere is what helps Mary Shelley create the gothic and scary writing she is going for, and will play a big role in other gothic works of writing.

Mary Shelley's opening to the novel Frankenstein starts off with letters describing characters, setting, background information, and helps the reader get interested into the story. I think that it helps draw readers attention and makes the reader want to read on and find out what happens. If I was to write a ghost story I would have not though of starting off like this but I think this is a very affective way to draw a readers attention to the story. I would start off talking about a character and telling what there doing and ease into the ghost, but Mary Shelley finds a really creative and affective way to begin her story that will immediately draw the readers attention. She gives the reader a little story to begin with and then ends talking about another more important story she will talk about making the reader want to read on and find out what she will tell about. Its more affective her way because I would just start talking about what is going on with no background information and you would not be as interested. Mary Shelley also uses interesting words that draw your attention and tells a story in the beginning of her story to draw you in. Mary Shelley uses very affective techniques to draw readers in and make them more interested in her stories and really is successful in drawling readers attention in Frankenstein.

If I was a superhero I would choose to keep my identity a secret. I would choose to keep my identity a secret because I would want to protect my identity from and evil doers who have a hatred for me. In every movie every superhero who reveals their identity always has their arch nemesis try and take their loved ones or someone or something they know is important to them since they know their identity and therefore can watch them. I would keep my identity secret so that my villan will not take or hurt my loved one or the people i care for. I would also keep my identity a secret so that people do not try and take an dvantage or my powers and try to get me to solve all of theirs with my powers. I also would not want all the fame and attention, everyone watching my every move waiting for me to mess up so they could turn it around on me and make me seen like a bad guy. There would be to much attention drawn to me if my identity was not a secret. I also would not want to have to solve every problem in the world, with my identity known people would call on me when there is a problem and that would have a mental and physical toll on me. I would not tell even the people close to me because I would not anyone to see me different because of my powers. If i had powers and was a superhero I would choose to keep my identity a secret and not so everyone knows.

A time i had to convince someone of something was when I was arguing with my little brother. We were arguing about who made a nastier play in baseball. Me and my little brother both had a baseball game the same day but at different times. During his game he made a decent play and though he was the best player in the world. He was at pitcher and he pitched to this kid, when the kid it my brother dived for the ball,feilded it, and threw it to first while laying down. He though he was the best because of that routine play. While in my game I was playing shortstop. The kid hit the ball i dove caught it and thana threw it to first before the kid could get back therefore getting a double play. We argued the whole ride home about our espn highlight plays. I had to persuade him that mine was better because it was more complex, and i had a harder throw to make. He eventually gave in but i still gave him props for making that kid of play at his age.

OGT

  The OGT that I feel I am least prepared for is either the
 English or History. If I had to choose which one I was
least ready for though it would probably be history. I
feel least prepared for history because  I am not good
at remembering all the events and vocabulary in history.
On the history mid-term I guessed on a lot of the
questions and barely got a C. To help myself feel more
prepared for history I will probably look over previous
test that we have taken through out the year. Also I
could read and re-read chapters in my history book.
I can look over guided readings and worksheets that
we did. I can take practice test on OGT  websites to
prepare myself more also. I also am worried about
my English OGT because I am not good with punctuation,
grammar, and other things we have to know.  I am also
not very good at writing. I am a little nervous about
the extended responses that we will have to complete.
These are the OGT test that I am worried about
and need to prepare more for.

One characteristic that I like about myself is that I am always chill and relaxed for the most part. I am not like other people who are loud, always stressing, and hyper. I am usally quiet, calm, relaxed, and chill. A lot of people always ask why I am so quiet, and I do not really know that is just my personality. I usally keep to myself and just worry about sports and grades. The only time someone will see me excited, loud, or hyper is when I am playing a sport. I am highly competive and I hate to lose. I am proably the sorest loser you will meet I just really hate to lose. Sports are kind of what brings me out my "shell" and gets me out there. My personality fits me and I like who I am.

A moment when I witnessed someone close to me expierence joy was christmas. I witnesssed all my litttle cousins open thier presents from my grandma at her house on christmas eve. When they all opened their presents they were so happy even though they all recieved mmoney. My one cousin who is five I think said "im ging to spend this at the dollar store" which was really funnny because he knew he could get more for his money there. All my little cousins were running around showing everyone thier money acting like they were rich now. It was cool to see them all so happy. Another time i witnessed someone close to me expierence joy over winter break was when my brother opened his presents and had got what he wanted. I was happy ofr him because hes a stright A student and id well behaved for the most part. He wanted me to play every new game he got with him. He also got baseball stuff which is cool because were both really into baseball. Also when we had the three extra snow days off my brother was really happy. He already didnt want to go to school, and wanted to play with the stuff he got for christmas. These are just some of the joyful events that happened over break, I had a good time and hope everyone else did.

three wishes

If I had three wishes here is what I would wish for.... I would wish one that the wishes were no jinx or had any negative effects on me. I would wish this because in every story or movie when someone gets three wishes there is always a twist or is not what they really wished for. The second thing that I would wish for is to be the best baseball player there is and ever will be in the rest of time. I am really passionate dor the game of baseball and want to be known as the greatest to play the game. I would also wish this so I can play on the best teams at the age of only 15 right now. With this wish being granted I will be looked up to by baseball fans everywhere for the rest of eturnity. For the last wish I would wish that I was not so little and scrawny. I would wish this because everyone always tells me that im "skinny" or "scrawny" and it makes me so mad. Every time someone calls me little I go home and lift but still do not get bigger so I will wish to get bigger, muscular, ripped, and buff. If I had three wishes this is what I would wish for and why I woould wish for them.
